Calender of Events - Auvergne France Vacances  Special Events Calendar Autumn/Winter 2009 The following are just a sample of events that are taking place in the Sancy area this autumn and winter season 11th October: Autumn Festival - Spectacle Soliloques - Besse. 21st October: Halloween Festival - Le Mont Dore. 25th October: Pumpkin Festival - Chastreix. 28th October: Children's Entertainment - Pêcheurs d'Etoiles - La Bourboule 31st October: Guided Walk - St. Nectaire. Enjoy the beautiful autumn colours, panoramic views and dramatic landscape of this stunning region. Booking required. From 2.00pm meet outside the tourist office - St. Nectaire. 9th November: Grand Fayre - Egliseneuve d'Entriages. 20th - 26th December: Les Chalets de Noel - Le Mont Dore. 20th December: Besse aux Bougies - (Besse by candle light) Besse.   At nightfall the streets of the lovely mediaeval town of Besse are illuminated by candlelight in a spectacular display. Later Father Christmas visits the town by horse drawn carriage.
