Besse is an attractive medieval town with cobbled streets - the 90m deep crater lake, Lac Pavin, is close by for lovers of fishing and nature - and also the ski station of Superbesse (downhill and cross country ski-ing) - You can also visit the many other typical villages of the region such as Murol, with its castle - Saint-Nectaire, with its roman church, caves and casino - Chambon sur Lac where in high season you can swim or hire a pedalo for example. You can also enjoy the weekly market in Besse on Mondays.
